Is it the shade of a willow tree, a moonlit night, or just a morsel of bread and a glass of water? Can you mend the hearts you’ve broken, can you make up for the sorrows you’ve caused? Everything you thought would never end does come to an end one day. But the real question is this: Is there an account for what has been lived? The infinity within you is your very existence—what is this world you speak of, anyway?
An afternoon nap in the shade of a willow tree
The breath of my beloved on a moonlit night
The sunrise at dawn
What is this world you speak of, anyway?

A stopover, perhaps, to places further on?
A drought, perhaps, in parched deserts?
A boat, perhaps, into the opening nights?
What is this world you speak of, anyway?

Can you mend the hearts you’ve broken?
Can you make up for the wrongs you’ve done?
Can you turn back the years, reclaim the time?
What is this world you speak of, anyway?

Isn’t it just a bite of food you can eat?
Isn’t it just a glass of water you can drink?
Isn’t it just a coat without pockets you can wear?
What is this world you speak of, anyway?

Did you think the traces you left would fade?
Did you think the paths you walked would never end?
Did you think everyone who smiled at you was a friend?
What is this world you speak of, anyway?

You think it won’t end, but it all ends one day
Either a day early, or a day late
Before it passes you by, you must move on from it
What is this world you speak of, anyway?

If there’s no reckoning for what’s been lived, what’s the point?
Before the reckoning is taken from the one with short ears
The infinity within is your existence
What is this world you speak of, anyway?
